  10 Cameron has a good friend named Anika Willis. They first met as
  11 toddlers when we lived in student housing at BYU. Matt and Andra moved
  12 in shortly after we did, to an apartment with doors that opened just
  13 across from ours onto the same porch. More often than not, in the
  14 summertime, both doors were open and Cameron and Anika would move back
  15 and forth quite freely. We all got to be very close friends.

  17 Since then, we've stayed in good touch with the Willis family. While
  18 we were in Virginia, they were in New Jersey which was just close
  19 enough that we were able to spend some great Thanksgiving holidays
  20 together. Now, we all miss each other terribly since we're in Oregon
  21 while they're in north Carolina.

  23 ## The problem

  25 A couple of months ago, we received Anika's Traveling Turtle in the
  26 mail, (look at the adorable message she wrote to introduce it). The
  27 plan was that we would write an entry about an animal and mail it on
  28 to someone else to do the same. We even took it with us on our Spring
  29 Break trip to the coast with full intentions to add an entry right
  30 away. But "the best-laid plans" and all that. Cameron has now made a
  31 nice entry on the life cycle of a frog, and Hyrum did the same for
  32 salmon. But we don't have time to let the turtle do any more
  33 traveling, (at least not through snail mail).

  35 ## A plea for help

  37 This web page is our last chance to help out Anika by letting her
  38 turtle do a little bit of virtual traveling. It is a bit embarrassing
  39 to be asking people to help on a tight deadline, when the only reason
  40 for expediency was our own failure to act quickly. So, please, nobody
  41 should feel any obligation to do anything.

  43 But if anybody would be interested and willing to help, we would
  44 really appreciate it. Here are Anika's original instructions:

  46 > Please write (type) about an animal in your area or one that you are
  47 > intrigued about. It doesn't have to be a lengthy report, just some
  48 > specifics that will help me learn more about some animal life cycles
  49 > (birth to adult). Please be sure that your paper is signed with your
  50 > name, city, and state.

  52 If anyone would be willing to do that, please just type a quick email
  53 to stacy&#64;theworths.org and Stacy will print them out, paste them
  54 into Anika's book, and then send the results back to Anika.
